Chris Hunnicutt was born and bred in Colquitt County, Georgia, where the rich soil and warm sun have shaped his life and livelihood. A graduate of Colquitt County High School, he took his passion for agriculture to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, earning an Associate Degree in Agri-Business Management in 1992.
With roots deeply planted in the family farm, Chris has spent two decades cultivating success across 3400 acres of row crop, overseeing the growth of cotton, peanuts, wheat, and soybeans. His dedication to agriculture extends beyond the fields, as he has served as the manager of Ellenton Peanut Company since 2012, ensuring the prosperity of both his farm and the local agricultural community.
Family is at the heart of Chris's life, having been happily married to his beloved Ginger for 29 years. Together, they've raised two wonderful children, Austin and Christin, instilling in them the same values of hard work and dedication that have defined Chris's own journey.
In addition to his agricultural pursuits, Chris is deeply involved in his community's governance and development. Elected to the County Board of Commissioners District 2 in 2016, he continues to serve with integrity and a commitment to improving the lives of his fellow citizens. His passion for motorsports led him to create Needmore Speedway in 2010, providing a thrilling venue for racing enthusiasts and bringing excitement to the local community.
As a dedicated advocate for recreation and leisure, Chris also serves as a valued Board Member of the Moultrie Colquitt County Recreation Authority, ensuring that all residents have access to enriching activities and facilities.
With a lifetime of experience in agriculture, a heart for community service, and a zest for innovation, Chris Hunnicutt stands as a pillar of strength and leadership in south Georgia, shaping a brighter future for generations to come.
